PPF is a thick urethane film applied over paint. It absorbs the impacts that cause chips and light scratches — road debris, gravel, car park contact, bag scuffs — and shields against etching from bird lime and tree sap if these are removed promptly. It does not prevent dents, deep gouges that reach through the film, or damage from a collision.
Most PPF conversations in Bengaluru are conducted in the wrong currency. Buyers ask for a price; the questions that actually determine the outcome are which film, what coverage, how the edges are handled, and what the warranty covers.
Coverage is the biggest variable. A front-end kit, an extended front, and full-body coverage are three different products with three different results — and within each, whether edges are wrapped or cut at the panel line changes both the appearance and how the film ages.
We show you the boundaries before you commit. You should know exactly where film will stop on your car, whether that line will be visible, and what the manufacturer's warranty does and does not cover — in writing, from the film manufacturer, not as a verbal assurance.
| What it is | Urethane film applied over paint to absorb impact and abrasion |
|---|---|
| Protects against | Stone chips, light scratches, abrasion, etching if contaminants are removed promptly |
| Does not prevent | Dents, deep gouges through the film, collision damage |
| Coverage options | Front-end, extended front, or full-body — boundaries agreed before fitting |
| Edge treatment | Wrapped or cut-line, explained and shown to you in advance |
| Warranty | Per the specific film manufacturer's written terms — provided to you |
| Pricing | Quoted after film, coverage and edge treatment are agreed |
A transparent process, so you know what happens to your car and why.
We walk the car with you and agree exactly which panels and boundaries are included, so there are no surprises about where the film stops.
Existing condition is assessed. Film locks in what is underneath it, so anything that needs correcting is identified and discussed first.
The surface is thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated. Preparation quality determines adhesion and how the film looks close-up.
Where paint correction is part of the agreed scope, it is done before film goes on.
Film is applied panel by panel with the agreed edge treatment — wrapped where the panel and design allow it.
The film is left to settle and then inspected under light for lifting, contamination or edge issues.
You get the manufacturer's warranty documentation and a straightforward explanation of washing, drying and what to avoid.
We would rather tell you the limits up front than have you discover them afterwards. Anything we cannot honestly promise before seeing your vehicle, we say so.
Manufacturers publish durability expectations for their own films, and those figures assume reasonable care and normal exposure. Real-world life in Bengaluru depends on parking conditions, sun exposure, wash practice and how promptly contaminants are removed. We give you the specific manufacturer's stated terms for the film you choose rather than a generic number.
They solve different problems and are commonly combined. PPF is a physical barrier with real thickness, so it absorbs impacts that cause chips. Ceramic coating is a thin chemical layer that changes how the surface behaves — easier cleaning, better water behaviour, more gloss — but provides minimal impact protection. See our full comparison.
Sometimes, and it depends on the panel and the approach. Wrapped edges tuck film around the panel edge and are far less visible; cut lines on a flat panel will show on close inspection. Not every panel on every car allows wrapping. We show you where the lines will fall on your specific car before you commit — that conversation is better had beforehand than at handover.
It can, but you should understand the trade-off. Film seals in whatever is underneath, so existing swirls, chips or a poor respray get preserved rather than hidden. Adhesion on fresh paint also depends on the paint being fully cured. We inspect and tell you honestly whether correction first is the better sequence.
Yes. Film is not a licence to stop washing the car. Contaminants left on the surface — bird lime especially — can still etch the film itself. Regular washing with appropriate technique, prompt removal of contaminants, and care around edges when drying will get you the life the manufacturer describes.
