Paint Protection Film
PPF is a thick urethane film applied over paint. It absorbs the impacts that cause chips and light scratches — road debris, gravel, car park contact,…

A ceramic coating is a thin chemical layer that bonds to the paint surface. It makes the surface easier to clean, changes how water behaves on it, adds gloss and provides some resistance to chemical etching and UV. It is not an impact barrier — it will not prevent stone chips, and it does not make paint scratch-proof.
Ceramic coating is the most oversold product in car care, which is a shame, because what it genuinely does is worth having. The value is in surface behaviour: dirt releases more easily, washing gets faster and safer, water sheets off, and gloss holds better over time.
What it does not do is stop physical damage. A coating is measured in microns. Stone chips, car-park scrapes and wash-induced swirls are mechanical events that a chemical layer of that thickness cannot absorb. Anyone telling you a coating makes paint scratch-proof is selling you something that does not exist.
The other thing nobody advertises: the result is mostly determined by preparation, not by the bottle. A coating applied over contaminated or swirled paint locks that condition in and makes it harder to correct later. Most of the work in a good coating job happens before any coating is opened.
| What it is | A thin chemical layer chemically bonded to the paint surface |
|---|---|
| Genuinely provides | Easier cleaning, water repellency, gloss, UV and chemical resistance |
| Does not provide | Impact protection, chip resistance, immunity from wash swirls |
| Determined by | Preparation quality far more than product brand |
| Often combined with | PPF on high-impact areas, coating over the rest of the car |
| Warranty | Per the specific product manufacturer's written terms |
| Pricing | Quoted after paint condition and correction scope are assessed |
A transparent process, so you know what happens to your car and why.
We assess the current condition — swirls, etching, oxidation — and show you what is actually on the paint before agreeing scope.
Coating locks in the surface beneath it. We agree how much correction is worthwhile for your car and your expectations, in plain terms.
Thorough washing, chemical decontamination and mechanical decontamination to remove bonded contaminants the wash leaves behind.
Machine correction to the agreed level. Not every car needs or justifies a full multi-stage correction, and we will tell you when it does not.
Panels are stripped of oils and polishing residue so the coating can bond to bare paint rather than to residue.
The coating is applied panel by panel under controlled conditions and levelled to the manufacturer's specification.
The vehicle is held for the manufacturer's stated cure period, then handed over with warranty documentation and clear aftercare guidance.
We would rather tell you the limits up front than have you discover them afterwards. Anything we cannot honestly promise before seeing your vehicle, we say so.
For most owners in Bengaluru, yes — but for the right reason. The value is in maintenance: dust, pollen, hard-water spotting and monsoon grime release far more easily from a coated surface, so washing is quicker and less likely to inflict swirls. If you are buying it expecting chip protection, you are buying the wrong product — that is what PPF does.
Manufacturers publish durability figures for their own products under stated conditions. What you actually get depends on wash technique, parking exposure, chemicals used on the car and climate. A coated car washed with harsh chemicals and a dirty sponge will lose its behaviour early. We give you the specific product's written terms rather than a headline number.
Yes — coating makes washing easier, not unnecessary. Contaminants left on the surface can still bond and etch, and a neglected coated car will look worse than a well-maintained uncoated one. The realistic promise is that maintenance gets faster and safer, not that it disappears.
Commonly, yes, and it is a sensible combination: film handles impact on the high-exposure areas, coating handles surface behaviour across the car including over the film. Compatibility depends on the specific film and coating, so we confirm the manufacturers' guidance for the products you choose rather than assuming.
Often, yes — more than owners expect. New cars routinely arrive with transport film marks, dealer wash swirls and light defects. Coating an uncorrected new car locks those in. We inspect under light and show you what is there, then recommend a correction level proportionate to what we find rather than defaulting to the most expensive option.
